Field level security based on Status

We have a tab set up with fields we'd like to set to read-only once an issue passes a certain point in a workflow (tab only, not the entire issue).  I've looked at several plugins, but they either hide the tab/fields entirely or secure the fields down post-creation.  

Does anyone have advice on plugins or other ways to accomplish this?  We use the Behaviours plugin, but again, I need something that will be set in a post-function, preferably.

Hi Kimm,

if you will invest in JJupin plugin solution is very simple. Just write few lines of code in SIL language and set security level also change it when status will change.

WIthout this plugin it is also possible but it is more complex.

My advice for this kind of requirement is to just don't make the fields editable (remove them from the Edit screen) and just add them to transition screens on which you can set conditions/validators as long as you like.
