File permissions in jira search of confluence documents (no access/read-only/edit)

  1. User read-only to FAQ and self-help articles

  2. Service desk read-only to all articles

  3. CM publish and edit of all documents

  4. Permission at the request type level within a project.  Can we limit permission to a security group?

  5. Customer Facing page by geographical location (different service portfolios) different landing pages.

Hi Michael,

All the permissions for access to the KB content is going to be dependent on the Confluence side via Global permissions , Space permissions & Page restrictions. but as for restricting permissions to knowledge base spaces its an all or nothing link, you can only allow your customers access or not, and there is a feature request to add this in visible here:

For Your internal users, the level of access for Editing, and viewing of the confluence data is best controlled by the space permissions, for a varying level of access as needed

For the external Service Desk user check out "Set up knowledge base permissions" and "Set up a knowledge base for self-service", you would want to set up the  "All active users and customers" option on articles that you want to be visible via the portal so the customers can see the KB as well as the internal users.

Regards,
Earl
