Filter by "Status" isn't working well in Plans

Vasily Belov May 30, 2024

Hi, My Jira Plan (Advanced Roadmap) is based on a filter that includes Epics and their tickets (Improvements, Bugs, Researches, Tasks). In this Plan I try to filter tickets by status and it works well overall, but when I select "In Progress", it shows tickets that are done as well. What should I look into to fix that? Thanks.

"In progress" isn't selected, everything seems fine (Epic is "in progress" and is visible, but that's expected):

"In progress" is selected, note that "Closed" isn't selected, but tickets are shown:Screenshot 2024-05-30 at 10.55.20.png

Hi @Vasily Belov and welcome to the Community!

Just below the area included in your screenshot, there is a checkbox show full hierarchy. When this is checked, you will not only see the issues matching the filter, but also their parent issues so you get a picture of the full view of the issue tree. That may be causing what you see here.

Hope this helps!

Hi Walter, thanks!

Yes indeed, it helped, thanks a lot!

I have an Epic being "in progress", is that why the "show full hierarchy" has such affect on closed child tickets?
