Hello,
I am using JIRA software 7.12.3.
When creating a ticket, on the create screen when I try to link issues to it I enter the ticket ID. This either shows the issues that I have visited recently which matches the words I have entered or it only shows the complete issue ID but no summary or issue icon etc. So the user would know if it is the same issue they are creating.
I also try to use the plus icon besides the issue selection drop down and enter my filter which will list all the issues within a project. But it only loads 5 entries this way it is difficult to find the issues that I am looking for.
Is there another way to search the issues on this field? Or is this an issue with the older version of JIRA?
Appreciate any help.
Regards,
Pooja
Hi Pooja,
If I understand the problems you are seeing here are in regards to the linked issues option on the create screen. I believe the limitations you are seeing here are largely specific to that older version of Jira Server. For example, in my 8.7.1 setup, I can see both the issue type and the description when searching in that box now:
But also when you click the plus sign to search for issues to select, the search results show up to 50 possible results from any filter you might have.
As such it seems like this is something that Jira has improved upon since your version. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any follow-up concerns about this.
