My team has determined that we need two grades of prioritization for one of our projects:
A 6-point (Blocker, then Very High to Very Low) priority gradation represents items in the wider sense. However, we also need a finer-grained prioritization, which is manually set, within each priority - to say that, for example, out of all issues at priority Low, this one is the highest priority out of them.
The visual metaphor does not matter, but ideally, the method needs to be viewable and sortable within the Planning Board when it is set to a list.
We are currently on JIRA 4.4.1 with GreenHopper 5.7 - what ways would be recommended for implementing this?
Sounds like you need ranking. There's nothing stopping you ranking a low-pri higher than a high-pri though, but personally I don't think that matters.
