Fixing Columns for a filter involving multiple teams

Here is the scenario:

I have created a filter to pull stories for 4 different projects e.g. A,B,C and D. I have chosen (using Filter tab under Columns) the columns I want for the filter.

I am now using this filter on a dashboard in two dimensional statistics gadget.

Case 1: Whenever I click on the total stories count, the filter is invoked with correct columns but

Case 2: when I click on individual projects stories count, default columns are shown.

Is there a way to use the columns specified for the filter to be shown even in the second case?
