Generate Jira issue based on template/blueprint variables

I have a template/blueprint (currently template, but I probably have to switch for increased functionality) for a status page that will contain several variables. I'd like a button to create a Jira issue with several of the issue fields prefilled with data from the page created with the template/blueprint. Is this possible?
