Get Issue fields by name

Hi I created a configuration page for my plugin that allows the user to select the fields they want the plugin to use. I can't see how to get the field information from the issue as the issue has separate get functions for all the main fields and only custom fields are got from a single function. 

What is the method to get these fields?
