Our application we are tracking in Jira has many parts. Not each part will be affected for a release.
So far for each part we created a component in Jira, an link these to the story, which in turns is linked to a release.
We would now like to get a list of all components that are affected by a given release.
Is this possible?
Hi, this can be done by creating a filter that filters all the stories with component field not empty which are linked to a specific release. Once you have that filter in place you can visualize the list of component in a dashboard.
A better way to visualize the component list for each release is also to create a structure board (you need to have the Structure App) for all the releases with the linked stories and group the stories by component.
Thanks, with the dashboard I get almost the overview I need.
I've looked for the structure app, but can't find it, do you have the full name of the app?

welcome to the community!
If you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, this would be easy to do using the app that my team and I are working on: JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. It also comes with a number of advanced features, including support for (configurable) issue hierarchies, issue grouping by any issue field(s), sum-ups, or conditional formatting.
With these, you can build a view like e.g. this in just a couple of clicks:
This is really just one of a virtually endless number of possible views and reports; you can also view and group by any other issue fields, configure different sum-up styles, etc. etc.
Any questions just let me know,
Best,
Hannes

Thanks, it is a great app, but we only need a simple list for now. Your app is is a little overkill for this.
