Get shown re-opened Epics in Epic link list without ticking "Show done epics"?

Alexander Schwenk April 23, 2018

I have an epic, which was set as "done" but is now in "requested" again, because I have to work with it. Now I want to link some stories to this epic. But I can only find it in the list when I am ticking the checkbox "Show done epics". Even though it is not "done" anymore.

When an issue type of epic has a resolution value, it can be considered completed.  This is because of the way the system field called 'resolution' works in Jira.  All issues in Jira have this field, but by default the field on each issue is null when the issue is created.   Only once the issue has been resolved/completed are these issues expected to have a value in this field.

The act of re-opening an epic does not change the existing resolution value, it would only change the status of the issue.  So I would recommend trying to clear the resolution value set on that issue and set it back to an empty or Null value to get the results I think you are looking for here.

Please let me know if this helps.
