Getting an error when trying to connect to Bugzilla

I have added the credentials for Bugzilla and I get the following errors.  I have verified that I am able to connect successfully with the userid and password. I have a Bugzilla version 4.2.4

Error connecting to the database: Could not create connection to database server. Attempted reconnect 3 times. Giving up.

Any help is greatly appreciate it.  I am only importing the bugs from Bugzilla with attachment into Jira

It sounds like you might be trying to use user credentials to get into the Bugzilla database - you don't need that, you need the database credentials Bugzilla connects with.
