Getting collective data on story points

Mariam Grigoryan August 10, 2020

Dear community,

After adding the story points to the tasks from several projects, how can I get collective data on the story points from different projects?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @Mariam Grigoryan

What do you mean by collective data?  For example, do you mean the sum of the story points for the tasks across the projects?

One option is to buy an add-on for JQL (JIRA's query language) in the marketplace to support summing.  However, you appear to be using the free edition of JIRA cloud, so instead you could:

  • Create a filter spanning the projects, export the results, load them in a spreadsheet tool, and sum the values.  The filter could be: project IN (myProject1, myProject2, etc.) AND issuetype = Task
  • Create a dashboard using the filter, adding a gadget to sum the points for you

Best regards,
Bill
