GitLab smartcommit transitions

I am not making any progress with getting the smart commits to work.

I managed to make the issue transition to done after merging the merge request. also any commit adds a comment to the correct issue but the #in-progress transition etc isnt working. i even tried adding commits with TASK-123 #in-progress on the master branch but still no transitions are happening. is there any tip on something special that needs to be done in gitlab to get this to work.

11;21; 41;51;31 as transition ids to GitLabs custom transitions field but other than that im not seeing any step i might have missed
