Gitlab fails to close an issue in Jira

Markus Miller June 26, 2019

Hello,

I've configured Jira and GitLab according to this link: GitLab Integration and committed regarding my Issue (It's within the starter scrum test project in which I opened a new issue: SCRMTST-24) using those comments:

SCRMTST-24 #done <comment...>

SCRMTST-24 #close <...>

SCRMTST-24 #close #comment <...>

closes #SCRMTST-24

<Another closes #SCRM... here>

All commits (except for the last mentioned in the <>) are listed in Jira as comment but the ticket itself is still staged as "in progress".

As Transition IDs in GitLab I specified 3; 10000; 10001; 10100; 10101 according to the return value of that rest api call (Transition IDs).

Any ideas why it's not working?

Thanks a lot

Hi @Markus Miller ,

I might not be the best person to answer this question, but this seems to be exactly the same topic discussed in the below GitLab issue:

Can you kindly review above link and let me know if it helps?

Cheers,
Dario

Hello,

thanks for your reply. I've tried several different transaction ids and none of them worked.

Since I haven't heard anything about the topic in a while I found a diferent solution by using a plugin now.

Thank you

Thanks for your reply @Markus Miller .

Even you you already made it work, you might still want to review the thread I pointed to since in there different causes and solutions are explored.

However, since this is not an issue for you anymore I am marking this question as answered.

Have a nice day!

Dario

Hi @Azusa ,

As written in above reply:

Since I haven't heard anything about the topic in a while I found a different solution by using a plugin now.

Indeed, there is a number of add-ons available for this in our marketplace:

If this is not desired, you may also want to review below links since alternative ways are suggested in there:

I hope this helps.

Cheers,
Dario
