Hello,
Our organisation has multiple jira instance.
There is one main instance and they claimed our organisation email domain. So all the users with our org email address are managed in that instance. And they have Okta authentication.
I am the admin of one of other instances. If i sent invite for any new users with our org email id, they are not able to login and getting error from Okta as "User not assigned to the application"
To resolve that we need to activate the user in main jira instance and then have to grant access to my instance which consumes dual license.
Is there any way to handle this without impacting both the jira instances?
Take a look at why you have set up different instances. If you want to give people access, they need a license or they won't be able to access your site. That's how it works.
Very often, by managing permissions to your projects properly, you can let your teams work in the same site while making sure they can only access the data they should have access to. Not sure of course if this is what's at play in your organisation, but I have seen customers that set up multiple instances for running separate projects and then running into this exact same scenario.
If you really need separate instances and have a lot of users, you may want to further investigate if an enterprise plan isn't a better match for your organisation.
Hope this helps!
