Hi,

When I use GreenHopper Agile tickets (via create card option) to create a new card, I get a screen with parameters to fill.

The parameters to fill are changed according to the card type (epic, story, etc.). For example: when I choose the story card type it automaticall adds a Story Points field.

I have my own customized issue types, and I'd like to show/hide specific fields according to the issue type.

How do I do it?

Thanks,

janiv.

Janiv,

Refer the GH documentation on how to setup cards for Summary, List and Detailed views at http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/GH/Configuring+your+Card+Styles

Thanks,

The documentation refers to card styles, which handles the way cards are displayed.

I'm concerend about the way to create new cards.

Do yo uhave any idea?

Thanks,

Janiv.

I guess what you configure for "Card View" is what is used while creating new cards also.

Thanks,

I guees not, the card style is used only for viewing cards. It doesn't affect the creating process of any of the cards.

Er, no, Renjith is correct - when you click "new", you get the "card view" as defined. It does affect the create process.

I've just tested it in both 4.0 and 4.4 - adding one of our custom fields to card view makes it enterable on greenhopper create.

Could you explain exactly what you are doing, when creating a new issue, and what happens when you amend the card view?

I too just tested it now (GH Plugin Version: 4.4, JIRA Version: 4.1), it does affect the fields shown in the 'Create New Card' view.

Additionally I also observed that if any field is set as mandatory in the 'Field Configuration Scheme' for the Project you are working on, Greenhopper automatically shows that field in the 'Create New Card' view.

Guys, you are right. It works.

The problem was that I wanted to remove a field that was marked as mandatory in the field configuration scheme.

Thanks a lot and sorry for boothering ...

Read the documentation on Screen schemes, field configurations and custom fields. Start with http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Configuring+Fields+and+Screens (Greenhopper mostly presents a view of stuff over the top of Jira - you'll find it mostly changes to reflect your changes in Jira)

Hi,

Thanks,

I've read it all.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it is related to the JIRA.

This works for me in JIRA but it did not affect our GH issues.

When I create a new card and use my customized issues, I don't get the screen I planned.

In Jira, I do get the right screen.

Thanks again,

Janiv.

Sorry, I wasn't clear on that - you need the Jira structure to make sure the Greenhopper will work - if something doesn't work in the Jira side, it's never going to in GH. Later, you can fiddle with screens to make Jira totally different from GH (I wouldn't though), but the field configs and contexts still need to be correct.

Anyway, as that's all working in Jira, move back into GH, and go to Task Board -> Tools -> Config -> Card Styles. Configure the Three(!) create screens in there now.

Hi and thanks again,

Just to be clear - in JIRA the customized screens work fine.

However, the GH screen are not affected and currently I have different screens for JIRA (as I want) and for GH (which were not affected).

In the card style settings page, I can set the way the cards look but not the fields to be shown or hidden while creating a new card...

Thanks again,

Janiv.
