3 Questions for JIRA Service Desk.
1.) I understand JIRA doesn't include the functionality of assigning a task to a group / team. However, is there a way for JIRA to customize notification in a way where each request types (bugs, incidents, access requests) goes to a particular group of people for each of those request types?
2.) Approvers field in JIRA, do you have the ability to assign a group as an approver? I only see specific users, and would love to be able to assign it to an entire group / team as the approver.
3.) Is there a way of pre-selecting a list of users or groups under those Group and Approver fields? Right now, if you click on the little person icon in the lower left corner, it displays the entire Group or User list you have (it's quite long), is there a way of pre-selecting it to a smaller number of people?
Thank you thank you so much in advance. Any help is much appreciated! :)
1. You can make use components and assign a certain individual as the Default Assignee of a request type. Any request with the request type associated with the component lead automatically go to them.
2. Yes, you can create a group of approvers and have users type in a name of an approver (select list field) See, Setting Up Approvals.
3. Same as item 2.

Hi Victor!
Thanks so much for your response!!
So for the first question, I was hoping to assign it to a group. Is there a way for components to assign it to more than one individual?
Thanks for 2 and 3, I already browsed that page many times, but let me try the custom fields to see if I can customize anything!
Thanks!
