Groups and project role access getting removed after AD synchronization

Hi ,

We are using Jira 7.13.9 . In lower env we tried to sync AD  using Microsoft Active Directory connector . We are able to synchronize with AD successfully, but users groups and project level access are created in internal directory is getting removed  . Is there a way to retain internal directory groups and project level access post synchronization also . Please advise.

Are the group names the same in the internal directory as in Active Directory? Jira cant not have 2 groups with the same name, and it can not "merge" them

You can control the order by making your internal directory higher/lower priority by moving it up and down in the list. I believe first one wins.
