Has anyone experienced an issue upgrading to Jira DC 10.3.6 where the plugins are not listed?

I upgraded our Jira DC last night from 9.12.20 to 10.3.6 and none of my add-ons/plugins show up. Has anyone else noticed this issue?

Hi @Jeramy

That is interesting.. I remember a similar case far from the past.. Upgraded recently to 10.3.5 but not seeing any problems.. Not sure if one minor version would make a difference - it should be the same UPM version..

Anyway this is what was happening in the past

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-45381

So again it might be something wrong with the UPM itself.. but lets try to clarify first..

What you mean by non of your addons show up? Are you seeting UPM interface and things are loading forever or a simple blank page?

Are you able to paste a screenshot here?

and to everything @Mirek shared did you:

  1. Check the Marketplace Apps compatibility wit the new Jira version?
  2. Disable them before upgrading Jira?

Best,

@Tinker Fadoua | @Mirek - I had disabled them before the upgrade. Per Atlassian's recommendations, I renamed the two folders:

  • .osgi-plugins
  • installed-plugins

It's my understanding that this would cause the plugins cache to be "re-built" during the process of starting the server.

Here are the steps that I took to do the upgrade (not first major upgrade in my career):

  1. Verified all add-ons could be upgraded. ScriptRunner and a few others could be upgraded, but not to the correct version. For example, ScriptRunner could upgrade to 9.x.x for Jira 9.12.20, but would need to go to version 10 when upgrading to Jira 10.
  2. Upgraded all apps that could be upgraded.
  3. Verified I could do the upgrade from 9.12.20 to 10.3.6 using the built-in tool.
  4. Stopped the Jira service (we run Jira as a service on a Windows VM).
  5. Renamed the folders listed above.
  6. Ran the Jira installer.
  7. Updated JSM.
  8. Went to the Manage Apps page. I should have seen a dozen add-ons, but I only saw two. I'll add them to this response. The image with more add-ons is my production environment.
  9. After I realized that my apps were missing, I went to the logs. No errors during the upgrade and all add-ons were listed in the log.
  10. Once I did this, I went to the Marketplace (using the UI tool in Jira), found one of my add-ons and installed it. I was concerned that the configurations would not carry over. However, they did. But my director wanted me to find out what happened before reinstalling all of our add-ons manually.

As you can see, the add-ons are just missing. However, when I look at those folders on the server, they are there and have been repopulated.

Thank you both for your help!
