Has the behavior of Component filtering in JQL changed recently in JIRA cloud?

Hi all,

I am not a developer, but I am technically inclined.  I don't have admin rights in our environment.

I use JQL pretty heavily, and today I noticed that the Component auto-complete is doing a "starts with" instead of "contains".  For example, we have a Component named "Android Mobility: Fishbowl".  Previously I could just type in "Fishbowl", and the component would appear.  Now I have to use "Android" instead.  The problem is we have about 15 components listed to Android Mobility, so I have to scroll through the list until I find Fishbowl.  I could swear this previously did a "contains" so I could immediately find Fishbowl.

Has the behavior changed?  I did some quick searching and came up empty handed.

Hi Nancy,

I've tested on different test instances and also an old version of Jira Server and the search only works with the "starts with" and not "contains".
Searching for similar cases with our support, we had only one customer that faced the same issue, but it was in January 2017, so if it worked previously, it was a long time ago.

I've created a feature request related to it, so our developers can investigate if it's possible to implement it:

I'm sorry that we can't be more helpful on it at this time.

Regards,
Angélica
