Having issues with permissions sticking for filters and gadgets

Hello I am having an issue where I am creating a dashboard and sharing the dashboard with my team. I created a Filter counts gadget in my dashboard. I added my team as editors and my organization as viewers. My team couldn't see the gadget, but could see the dashboard, so I went to my filters I created for the gadget. I opened the details, and added the same permissions as the dashboard. However after I refresh the names of my team are not sticking and my team still cannot view the gadget in the dashboard.

Hi @Brandon Taylor -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

That is curious...What type of gadget is this for: a built-in, marketplace addon, or something you built yourself?

The only time I have seen that symptom was when the gadget cached the selected filter when it was added rather than using the "live" copy of the filter from Jira.  The fix is to

  • edit the dashboard to change the filter,
  • save your changes,
  • set the filter back to the desired one, and
  • finally save and re-test.
