Heavy server load after NullPointerException

Hi,

we are using JIRA 7.3.0 on Linux 64 bit Server with Oracle Database.

After a NullPointerException the workload of our server (4 kernel) rises to 100%, seems processes are looping.

The only solution so far is to restart the system. But NullPointerException happens very often in our installation (we don't know why).

Anyone who heard about such problems before?

Do we have a chance to get back to a stable system when upgrading to the newest version?

What are the errors leading up to the NPE, and the lines after it (basically, what does the log say is wrong and behind the NPE?)
