Newbie here...

I am looking to set up JIRA and use JIRA for project Management and time tracking. My company has many clients, each client has many projects, and each project has many tasks. I started playing with JIRA Core and it seems like what I need. However, I do not see a 'Client' field or anything similar. How would I set up JIRA with the below type of hierarchy?

Client --> Projects --> Tasks --> Sub Tasks

A link to a Confluence page would be great!

Thanks!

Thanks Thomas, but I don't think that would work. I researched some more and I think I will go with the below

Current:

Client --> Projects --> Tasks --> Sub Tasks

Jira:

Project --> Epic --> Task --> Sub Tasks

Thoughts?

Hi Dan,

Welcome to our community!

From what I understand, the challenge here is that you need a level above projects. That is not easy to accomplish without an add-on.

My name is Vlad and I work for ALM Works. Our app, Structure for Jira, helps Atlassian's largest customers visualize, track and manage progress across Jira projects with adaptable, user-defined issue hierarchies. The Folder feature, for instance, can help you organize your projects by client.

If you would like to discuss this in detail, I would be more than happy to schedule a quick demo session that can be tuned specifically to your use case(s). After that, you’ll be invited to download a 30-day evaluation license and our Support team will be available to help you along the way.

Please feel free to contact me directly at vlad@almworks.com or you can email our support team anytime at support@almworks.com if you have any questions.

I hope to hear back from you soon.

Best Regards,

Vlad
