Help to show total story points for all an Epics linked issues

Trisha Griffis March 8, 2019

We run Jira cloud and need to find a way to build a dashboard or pull info based on a filter for the following:

We link stories and tasks to epics and need the ability to report on story point total for all issues linked to that epic. I see there is an Epic progress bar in the backlog view. Is there a way to report on the progress bar information?

Hi Trisha,

I created a plugin called Agile Docs which solves this problem.

It gives you a progress bar based on the % story points completed within the Epic.

You can navigate to any set of Epics using your existing Quick Filters.

To just see the Epics (and not the entire tree), you can deselect the checkbox 'Expand All Epics'.

Hope that helps!

Hi @Trisha Griffis

There is the Epic Report that's a default report, but it won't give you a % Complete based on the number of issues completed within that Epic. Even so, you could easily figure out % Complete using the information on this report.

EDIT: link to Epic Report docs

Other than that, you could export the Epic's issues to Excel/CSV from the Issue Navigator and use Excel or something similar to create a % Complete report.
