I like Jira cloud as it's a very cost effective tool for managing projects. The only issue is that at any point in time, Atlassian support can just bypass authentication and login to view data stored in our Jira cloud instance. That's a concern if we have business proprietary information contained in our projects.
We don't have the resources to spin up an on-prem instance. What are some options on notifying when support tries to gain access to the data on our cloud instance?
Thanks,
Dexter
Hi Dexter,
One way to make sure that the Atlassian support team doesn't have access to the project is by making a project private.
We can achieve this by editing the Permission scheme of the project as below:
Administer project --> Assign it to only those users who should be the administrators
Browse project --> Provide the permission to only those users who should be able to browse the issues.
Please make sure that these permissions are not provided to any groups as it is easy to add oneself to the groups available.
I hope this helps
Best regards,
Shwetha
