Hi, I would like to extract the open defects from a specific date in the past. Is there any way this can be done? Thanks!

When you say "Open Defects", are you referring to:

• The "Status" of an issue on a specific date? (e.g. CHANGED from "Open" on "2015-1-1"
  Reference: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jira/advanced-searching-179442050.html#AdvancedSearching-CHANGED
• "Opened" as in the created date? (e.g. Created = 2015-1-1)

When you search both of this in the "Issues > Search Issues" in JIRA, you can always export them.
