We have the HipChat plugin installed in JIRA, and its configured to post to HipChat when comments are added to the JIRA issues. 90% of the time it works great... but occasionally we post a comment that uses JIRA security to restrict the comment to a group of users in JIRA. In this corner case it appears that the HipChat plugin gets the comment event and posts it to the public room in HipChat.
I'm pretty sure this is a bug, as restricted comments should not be published, but I have not been able to find an 'issue tracker' to verify because the link from the market place (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.atlassian.labs.hipchat.hipchat-for-jira-plugin/cloud/support) for the plugin point to http://help.hipchat.com/forums/138883-suggestions-ideas/category/42858-integrations however that URL gets redirected to the generic answers page
@Norman Atashbar would be the best person to answer this.
As far as I remember this was raised before and I think we are not pushing restricted comments to rooms.
I think it would be nice if you can provide the server version and the plugin version cause it might be fixed.
The best way to fix this would be to go through support.atlassian.com and they are going to find out everything you need.
Thanks for the info, that is probably the best approach, just not what I'm seeing.
We are running JIRA 7.1.9 and a hosted HipChat using the HipChat for JIRA connector version: 7.8.24
I will follow up with support thanks.
