Ho do i display the back log column on a Kanban board

I would like the Back log column to display on the Kanban board. Following these instruction does not map to the screen i see https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/configure-columns/#Enable-the-Kanban-backlog.

I do not see the to do status.

Hi @Jake S 

If you drag-and-drop the NEW status into the TO DO column the backlog view will be removed and instead all those issues will be in the first column of your board.

As the leftmost column for the board is the "not started", or To Do, column for a board, you cannot have 2 of those.  (Just in case that is what you meant: having backlog to the left of To Do.)
