How can limit edit permissions to specific role? (all project users will see the field, but only members in a specific role can update it)

@kerenshoAs Jira admin  you  can do this  in the permission scheme  of  the  project,  when you edit the scheme  you can add a role  under edit permission.

This  solution will only allow  those in this  role to  be able to  Edit issues in this project  including  this field on  the screen.  I would say  it's a  partial solution.

Best!

You don't.  The permission to change an issue is controlled by the "edit" permission in the project permission scheme.  There is no field level control - you can either edit the issue or not.

Hello,

You can not let a field be editable by a certain role in the Edit screen by project permissions.

You  could do it another way. Kindly read this thread:
