How To Move Completed Sprint Open Issues To TOP of Active Sprint Backlog

Hi - I want to move open issues from the completed sprint to the TOP of my new, active sprint. This time, when I closed the sprint, I moved the open issues directly to the new sprint. The result was that is totally messed up my ranked active sprint. What I wanted to happen was for the open issues from the old sprint to be at the top of the active sprint backlog. Is the right way to achieve this to move the issues to the backlog and THEN move them to the new, active sprint? Tx!

Assuming you are using ranking keep in mind that all issues (active sprint, future sprint and backlog) are considered in a common ranking. So when your active sprint is completed then the rank will still be relative to the issues in the next future sprint. They won’t go back to the top of the sprint just because they were in the previous sprint. Rather they will be interleaved by ranking value. You will need to reorder them within the sprint to change the ranking.
