How can I add gadgets in Jira on demand

I am trying to learn the basics of jira on an on demand version before I move on to my firms jira. One of my tasks is to become familiar with the road map application. However all the instructions simply tell me to go to my dashboard to download the plugin. However with my on demand version there is no 'add gadget' button that the instructions tell you to click. I am using the on demand version currently and I am the administrator.

Hi Mark,

The issue may be that you're currently viewing the System Dashboard, which isn't editable. If you follow this documentation to create a dashboard then the 'Add Gadget' button should become available.

Hi Guys,

To add one extra hint: You are able to edit the "system dashboard" if you like to. This can be done through the administration panel (you will need and administrators account)
In the administration panel click in the issues tab => user interface => system dashboard
