How can I change issue types on issues that go through 2 different workflows?

Hello, I had a problem where I needed to make the Sprint field required when creating bugs. I had to create two different workflows (1 for bugs and 1 for everything else) and attach them both to the the project workflow scheme because the Sprint field is locked in field configurations so I couldn't make it required there. However, when I did this, I am no longer able to switch bugs to stories/tasks or change stories/tasks to bugs. Does anyone know a work around or fix for this?

You can only "edit" the issue type when the config is identical for both types (fields and workflows basically)

You should find you can still use "move" though.  Keep the project the same and "move" to a different issue type.
