How can I copy field context to another field?

Batuhan ŞEN February 8, 2023

Hi everyone,

Is it possible to copy a field context to another field's context? Using Script Runner etc. or on DB side.

Anyone knows?

Thanks,

My Regards,

Batu

What do you mean by "copy" a context?  Do you mean you want to reconfigure the target field to have the same project/issue context that the source field has?

That's probably not worth scripting, it's something you would do as a one-off, and your admin would want to be thinking about it - it's going to take you a lot longer to write and test a script than actually just sit and do it in the UI

Hi Nic,

Thank u for replying.

Actually, I am one of admins. We are migrating some fields to another fields.

For example, some fields affects 300 projects. As u know, when you are configuring fields on editing configuration(Applicable contexts for scheme), you have to select Projects using CTRL on Choose applicable context(Apply to issues under selected projects). And that area is not large. Btw, I am working on Data Center.

I just wanted to ask if there is an easiest way or not (Copy context to another field - Issue type(s): Project(s):)

Thank u.
