How can I create a secure dashboard without adding more users to jira?

I only need a stakeholder to view a dashboard to see what we need to talk about in upcoming meetings.

Right now I use false sprints to organize my backlog. The sprint I want to show is one called "Discuss with Stakeholder A"

I created a filter for this sprint BUT it re-orders everything in the sprint and it jumbles it.

I was hoping to create a gadget in a dashboard that pulls the false sprint and share it with them. I know I can do this with anonymous user AND I want a bit higher security than that.

Thank you,

M

Hi @Mikaela Bertucci

Rather than using a "false sprint" to organize the work items for stakeholder review, have you considered using Components or Labels to indicate things like "Discuss with Stakeholder A"?

You could then create filters (and quick filters) for the Component, or Label, still ordering by rank, and move them as a set in the backlog.  The added benefits are less noise in sprint field values, and when items for different stakeholders are intermingled in rank order (for the entire backlog) that rank will not be disrupted by moving into/out of sprints.

Best regards,

Bill

Hey there,

Thanks for the feedback. The false sprints work really well for our team.  I'm keeping them. I find labels are a pain. I have made a drop down field called "Discuss with" which lists specific people.

I'm in next-gen so I can't create quick filters unfortunately.

I haven't tried the components .. I'll look in to that.

Thank you,

M

A filter won't re-order its contents, you have to change the issues to do that.  I suspect your query simply does not order the issues in the same way the board does.  Most boards use "order by rank"

You will need to add this person as a Jira user though, if "anonymous" isn't acceptable.
