How can I create an automation rule around a linked dependency that is marked done?

How can I create an automation rule that notifies an assignee when a linked issue, that is a dependency (is depended on by or depends on), is marked done? Both between cards on the same projects or cards between different projects.

Hi Shehzadali!

This can be done!

  1. Create an automation rule with the trigger "Issue transitioned". Make sure it has the proper checks in it for the statuses and anything else that would help identify it as the ticket being marked done.
  2. In that automation, you can use the Branch Related Issues, with the type being "Linked Issues" with "Depends On".
  3. In that branch, you can can get the {{issue.assignee.emailAddress}} to use the action send email.

I am not finding "Depends On" in the "Linked Issues" type when I search under related issues.  I am trying to automatically transition to "In Progress" once the first task is marked "Complete".  I have tried to link and trigger but the second task remains in the "To Do" status.
