How can I create subtasks via CSV import?

I want to import issues and their corresponding subtasks into a new JWM project. This help page states it is possible, ("You can also import multiple issues and subtasks via the CSV import.") however none of the help pages address this specific task.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Hi @ingrid.berendt

You need to reference the Issue ID in the upload, which allows you to set the Parent also.

You'll need this columns at minimum:

  • Issue Type
  • Summary
  • Issue ID
  • Parent ID

^ The Issue ID can be any number you like (eg. 1, 2, 3, etc) - and is needed on every row.

The Parent ID should only be populated for Sub-tasks, and needs to be set to the Issue ID of the relevant Parent row. Eg.

  • Row 1 - Task, ID = 1
  • Row 2 - Sub-task, ID = 2, Parent = 1
  • Row 3 - Sub-task, ID - 3, Parent = 1
  • ...etc

Many thanks! That's the best instruction I have found so far.
