How can I enable delete /edit function using other options of logging work in an issue?

Hi,

I'm trying to explore the jira cloud time tracking features. I logged in and set the log time value for an issue in 3 different ways.

First using the issue view screen  (...)  drop down button "log work".

Second by navigating to board >clicking on the issue > (...) dropdown > log time

Third, by configuring a customized workflow status "work log" with a time tracking field screen scheme.

Delete and Edit Own Worklogs are enabled as:

  • Application access (Any logged in user)
  • Project Role (atlassian-addons-project-access)

All the 3 options can log time spent, but only the first one can enable the delete and edit button features.  How can the delete/edit features apply to the 3  logging work set-up?

Hello Maricies,

Edit and delete worklogs are actions that apply to an specific worklog record of the issue, considering this, the only way to use this feature is using the worklog tab in the issue view screen and editing/deleting the desired worklog.

Best regards,

Marcos.

Hi Marcos,

Looks strange, as "log work"  is just the same field to fill in one issue view screen regardless of whatever ways we click in. Additionally, even when we click the (+) in the time tracking chart the log work button still appears and can log without delete and edit functionality. I just wonder why jira allow those options in logging work but it comes out with different features.

I just also found out that delete and edit buttons are only enabled for those with global  access permission. Is there any other way to set it up same with any logged user in an isssue?

Regards,

Maricris
