Hi,
I've been tasked with setting up my team in Jira to better schedule and track the work the team are doing, and provide wider visibility of all initatives and statuses of things we're working on.
I've setup a team-managed business project as the functionality of calendars, timelines is best suited to what we want.
Due to the nature of the work, I'm looking to enable the kanplan methodology (https://www.atlassian.com/agile/kanban/kanplan), as it's not suitable for the team to work in sprints and a scrum framework as some projects may take months to deliver.
However, we need a backlog. I would like to enable the backlog feature but can't find any instructions on where to do this. All I can find are the following instructions https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/configure-columns/?_ga=2.30469247.1389624074.1515431013-1642974239.1501531807#Configuringcolumns-enablingkanbanbacklog but this is for company managed projects.
I would also like to utilise the advanced roadmaps functionality to help present to stakeholders what's in our roadmap. As part of this, I want to use the initiative hierachy level as have multiple epics linked to one initiative but again, not sure how to do this in the current project setup.
I'm thinking that maybe I need to change the project type to a software project but unsure. Would love any advice or instructions on what I'm trying to acheive.
Thanks,
Abby
Hi @Abby Cooper and welcome to the community!
Business (Work Management) projects do not offer Kanban functionality. However, you could create a new Kanban board separately and create a shortcut to it:
