How can I filter tasks the have been stuck, ignoring updates in sprint number?

Paulo Amaral August 18, 2023

I would like to see in the board tasks that haven't had updates for the past 3 weekdays. I have a "Team Managed" board.

I tried to create a custom filter updated <= -3d, which works fine until we start a new sprint. When it happens, all tasks get an update and I lose the visibility to what was stuck.

Is it possible to filter by updated date, but ignoring the sprint change effect?

Thanks!

Hi @Paulo Amaral

Not natively; the updated date applies to the Sprint field, like any other field.

What's your definition of not updated? Is it any change aside from the Sprint field, or is it more specific than that (eg. if I change the Summary, does that count?)

It might be possible to add an additional custom "date" field, which is updated using Automation based on what is classed as an "update" - then you can refer to this in the filter instead :)

I tried you suggestion, it works great, thanks! It is better than what I had in mind, since I can fine tune which fields I want to consider and ignore things other than Sprint.

In my case not all fields mean the update was relevant to keep stakeholders informed (e.g. change of assignee, adding a label). Relevant changes would be new comments, changes in description, title, and other fields.

Thanks for your help!
