I'd like to create a account for one of our customers. This customer only needs to see 1 specific project and the issues within. This customer is not allowed to see other users, projects or issues within those projects. how can I arrange that?
Note that there is an awful default setup when you first create a Jira - it uses Jira users for "can log in" AND "can use every project by default". You need to un-pick that to enable "one user can only see one project". The standard advice is to use "jira users" to mean nothing other than "can log in".
Or you can take the easier, but divergent-from-standard route of creating a new group called something like "Jira login" and using that for login and not Jira users
Set the browse project permission to the projectrole the user has, then add a default security level with visibility for reporter and you internal team.

Still not working.
@Nic. Could you be a bit more detailed.
Maybe I should express myself more clearly. I want different users in different customer (user) groups. How can I set the permission for this group so they can only see 1 specific project and the issues within this project.

Follow the first four detailed steps above. They make it possible to have different groups with different accesses (the default setup does NOT let you do this, you MUST change it)
Once you've reconfigured the access system to support the locking down of your user groups, all you have to do is go into the roles for a project and add the right groups. i.e. add Group A to the role of "Users" in Project XYZ if you want people in that group to use the project. Rinse, lather and repeat for each project/group.
