How can I limit teams viewing other teams projects in JIRA

Supriya October 25, 2018

I set up 2 groups in JIRA. Group A, Group B

I want to setup JIRA in a way that when people from Group A login to JIRA they should see all the projects created by people in Group A.

I don't want Group A to see projects created by Group B.

I created another Group called "Supervisors" They need to see a list view of all projects created by Group A, Group B , % of Completion, Number of resources working on each project. How can I do that?

I'm not completely sure if you mean projects or issues. (projects created by: always JIRA admin and not users)

If projects

  • Use 1 permission scheme, defining browse project permission to a project role "Users or Viewers"
  • Assign group or users to that project role for each project (project role is suggested instead of "hard-coded" group into the permission scheme because it's more flexible)

If issues

I would suggest using Security Levels

https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver073/configuring-issue-level-security-861253265.html

  • Create an Issue Security Scheme
  • Define groups per each level (group A - level A)
  • Add supervisor groups in both levels

Hi @Supriya,

You can distinguish by permission scheme configuration

Implement this part of the function by configuring the Browse Projects permission.
