Hello people,
I want to link defects raised for a particular ticket to that parent ticket itself. So, when I pull a report, that will have all the issues reported as defect under the parent itself. Now, if i link issues, irrespective of parent or child all the issues are linked. Please have a look at the screenshot for reference. Now it's really confusing for me to segregate which defects are raised for which ticket.
Thanks all!
Hi @Akash Lenin ,
Hmm... I'm not sure I understand. Can't you have all the defects linked to the issue they belong to as subtasks of that issue?
If you want to have a specific type of linkage, you could define a new type as defined here:
https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/configure-issue-linking/
E.g. 'defect' and then use the JQL clause 'issueLinkType in ("defect") to select those tickets that are linked of this type.
Hey @Carlos Garcia Navarro ,
Thanks for replying but I am not sure if we can create defects as subtask ? Defect go through a complete different flow right.

I see... I'm not familiar with your process and Jira configuration. What do you try to accomplish? Is the goal to be able to pull a report with all the defects associated to a story/task? Or do you want to track them on the same board? Or something else?

Yea the goal is to track all the defects associated to only single ticket and have the same in the report.
