How can I make refreshing a gadget/portlet AFTER a Gadget user preferences has saved?

Hi all,

I have a Gadget and iam updating the user preferences. On saving the preferences the problem is that the refresh of the Gadget (Portlet) is called before the save preferences request. So the gadget must be reloaded one more time to have the up to date preferences.

How can I change this behaviour so that the portlet/gadget is refreshed after saving preferences has been called?
