How can I preserve Xray test execution bug description?

I have a script populating bug description with a template. This overwrites the Steps to Reproduce input from Xray when bug is created from test execution step. I would like to preserve the Steps to Reproduce and append it to end of my template. Does anyone have a similar problem / solution to this?
