How can I prevent likned issues from auto transition?

Vasyl Rubinskyi January 31, 2024

I have an issue, when linked issues autocahnge their statuses on the board when one of the issues is moved along the board.

i.e Issue A relates to issue B. Issue A is in progress, issue B is in To do.  Then I move issue A to dev review and issue B to in progress. For some reason issue A goes back to in progress automatically.

This make my life miserable and a chaotic change of issues makes me get rid of any linking.

Any idea how to disable that autotransition option for linked issues?

P.s. no automation rules are set fro a project.

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Jira does not do this off-the-shelf.  One of your administrators has set up an automation, listener, or post-function that does "if something happens to this issue, change the linked issue(s)".

You will need to work out where that has been set up and change or remove it.

There are a lot of places to check, and some of it depends on your level of access and what type of project it is.  Project admins can always see automations.  If it is a team-managed project, you will also be able to check the workflows for each issue type, but if it is a company-managed project, only Jira admins will be able to check the workflow transitions.  Jira admins will need to check listeners and global automations as well.
