Hello,
We are making use of the 'backlog' feature to keep our project board clear of non-current work.
That I can see, the only way to move items into the backlog, or back onto the board, is to open the backlog page, and drag and drop them from the 'board' section and into the 'backlog' section. Is there a way that I can set an issue to 'backlog' from within the issue view?
---additional detail---
We are using JIRA as a team workload management tool, to keep track of projects and actions that are assigned to us from those projects. We are not using the workflow features, or the service desk elements.
In JIRA for issues we have open, we have five status' for our issues (investigating, development, testing, user-acceptance, complete), we don't have an explicit 'backlog' status, as we don't want to see backlog items on the project board.
We are using the 'backlog' feature that is enabled in 'project settings > features', which create a tab under the project called 'backlog' (alongside others: 'roadmap' and 'reports'). Within this tab we are able to drag and drop items from the 'board', and into the 'backlog'.
What I want to know is whether it is possible from within the issue view screen, (e.g. https://xxxxxx.atlassian.net/browse/TSK-118 ) to move an issue from being on the project board to being in the backlog. Our current process for doing so is: open the backlog tab, find the issue in the 'board' list, and drag and drop into the 'backlog' list, return to the project board tab.
Best Regards,
Tom.
Hi Thomas,
If an issue is already in a status other than Backlog, you should need to have a transition in your workflow that allows issues to move from that status back to the Backlog. Then you would see it show up on the issue to be able to set it back to the Backlog.
Hi John,
Thank you for your answer. I am not sure whether this answers my question. I will provide some additional detail:
