How can I set quick filters for priority in my kanban project

I cannot figure out how to do this in my kanban project, I know how to do it in my scrum projects. But I need a way to filter based on the priority field. Can someone help?

What kind of project is it?

If it is a Team-managed or Jira Work Management project, you will not be able to change the sort. 

If it is a Jira Software company-managed, you change the board filter under the board settings.

argh... that might be the issue. It is team-managed. Can I (as an admin)

change this after the project is set up?

No, you can't change project types. You would have to create a new project and move the issues from the existing project to the new project.
