How can I upgrade to a supported version of Postgres on CentOS?

Fred November 6, 2018

I just installed the latest version of CentOS from Digital Ocean (Centos 7.5 x64) and it apparently comes with an unsupported version of Postgres (PostgreSQL 9.2.24 on x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu, compiled by gcc (GCC) 4.8.5 20150623 (Red Hat 4.8.5-28), 64-bit).  I didn't get any wanring about this when I first installed Jira but immediately after restoring my Jira backup I got this warning:

"Database: Supported database

Postgres 9.2.24 is not supported. You should migrate to a supported database version.
Supported versions are: 9.6, 9.5, 9.4, 9.3

Learn more"

The "Learn more" link above is broken.

Can anyone tell me how to resolve this without breaking my whole installation?
