Hi all,
hope someone can help me out with this. I have created a custom role called "Client".
This role has a custom permission scheme called "Client scheme" where I've set some permissions I need.
Now when I switch to an existing next-gen project I can't find the role that I've just created.
In addition to the existing roles I would like to select "Client" here. I've also seen that you can click on "Manage roles" and create a new one. However, I couldn't find all permissions that I need, for example "Assignable user" is missing in there, so I have to use the permission scheme.
Any help is much appreciated! Thank you!
Hello @Gregor Pichler ,
The problem comes from the project type : Next-Gen projects only have a limited amount of permissions (you can chose between 3 options) and the Next-Gen roles are different than the one you set; Next-Gen projects use their own project roles.
If you want to be able to define more into details the permissions of each different roles, and reuse the custom roles you created in different projects, I strongly recommend you to use a Classic project instead !
Guilhem
Hi Guilhem,
many thanks for your reply. Switching to a classic project is not possible I'm afraid. The roadmap feature is something we heavily rely on and as far as I understand this is not available for classic projects.
Why isn't there an "Assignable user" permission for roles I create in a next-gen project? The only thing I actually want is that I can assign tasks to someone who has the role "Viewer".
Is there any other way I can achieve this in a next-gen project?
Thank you for your support!

Hi Gregor,
Unfortunately as far as I know you won't be able to achieve this in a Next-Gen project :/
If you really rely on the Roadmap feature, I'm just letting you know that this feature is available in classic projects if you have a Premium Jira licence, depending on the use you have of roadmaps it might be worth the price.
