For a software project I am responsible for the test managament.
We want to use Jira to document test cases, results and so on. But on requirement is that we cannot use XRay. This leads to the fact that we cannot use Issue Types like Test, Test Execution and so on. Is this correct?
Are there any possibilities to set up the test management without using XRay?
Hi @Marcel
Unfortunately not as Test management is not a vanilla function in Jira
You could create your own issue type, but they just have the same functionality as the basic ones.
The marketplace test management apps like;
are their because of this.
So based on vanilla functions you could set up an array of issue type and link them together by making new issue link types, but you will not get to the functionality an app like XRay offers.
I hope this reply helps you out.

Hi @Marcel
As @Marc - Devoteam said Test Management is not a native function of Jira. Based on your request you may consider our app QAlity Plus - Test Management for Jira.
With the app, you're able to create Test Cases that can be executed, Test Cycles, and many more. Please take a look at the gif to see how you can easily create a Test Case and execute it:
Our application also allows you to easily track your work with Test Execution Report and Traceability Report.
I encourage you to try our interactive demo to see if this is something that would meet your expectations.
Using the app is free for up to 10 users on your instance. There is also a 30-day free trial period.
We are also happy to answer any questions about our application. Feel free to contact us by going to this link.
Kind regards,
